![]() The chapters in this collection advance the understanding of the challenges faced by diverse educational communities and contexts. Drawing on the concepts of discourse and identity, this work analyzes the problematic relationship between various educational actors immersed in contexts of change at the local, national and global levels. The contributors to this collection are 14 researchers from Mexico and the United States, who collectively consider the inequality of opportunities in educational institutions and processes on both sides of the border. Held in 2008, the meeting brought together nine researchers/teachers from Mexico and the United States to explore educational challenges associated with reforms, innovations, policies, and changing contexts in higher education.
